Day Fifty-Two

May 10th.

I can’t believe it has been 52 two days since lockdown. If someone had said to me even just a few months ago that we would be made to stay at home for this amount of time I would have thought it was a joke. But it’s been no joke.

On our daily exercise we walked through Alderley Edge. It was so strange. No cars parked, no people walking around, just a few people by Waitrose. It looked like something from a Zombie movie, it sometimes feels like our whole life is in a movie.

On the way back home, we walked past Alderley Edge School for Girls. I start there in September. I was supposed to have a taster day next month, but that’s been cancelled. And even when I do start, it probably still won’t be normal. I looked through the gates and could remember the huddles of girls I’d seen on every visit. Now the school was dark and abandoned. What gave me such a sense of welcome and happiness just looked quite sad and eerie.
